Centerville Band hosts several special events throughout the year! These events account for the greatest share of fundraising and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our volunteer parents, students, and alumni!

Soaring Sounds Drum Corps Competition – Late July/Early August is near the peak of the summer drums corps season. Every year around this time the Centerville Band Boosters partner up Drum Corps International to host Soaring Sounds! We are one of the longest running shows of its kind in the country and have been a Drum Corps International (DCI) tradition since 1980. DCI is known as “Marching Music’s Major League” and our show features World Class corps made up primarily of college age members. We draw a diverse group of spectators from all over the Miami Valley, with a history of healthy crowds of 4-5,000 fans.Booster Volunteer Needs: Ticketing, parking, hospitality, ushers, concessions/sales, marketing/promotion, tabulation assistants.
Centerville Invitational – Each Fall we host the annual Centerville Invitational Marching Band competition, typically in mid to late October. This event is sanctioned by the Mid States Band Association (MSBA) and typically draws about 30 high school marching bands from around the area. MEPA Winter Guard and Percussion Competition – Each winter we host our annual Winter Guard and Percussion competition sanctioned by The Mid East Performance Association (MEPA). 30+ Indoor performance groups will takeover CHS to wow audiences with their routines. Jazz Cakes – Join us for a breakfast of pancakes and smooth jazz in March to benefit the Centerville Band Program! The morning features performances from all middle school and high school jazz ensembles, as well as a silent auction and raffle.Booster Volunteer Needs: Ticketing, food prep, raffle, marketing/promotion, food servers, stage setup
Centerville Band Showcase – To celebrate National Music in our Schools month, the Centerville Band Program is excited to present our annual Centerville Band Showcase in March. This concert will feature over 500 of our band students in grades 6-12 in a unique combined concert in the Centerville High School Main Gym and is free and open to all members of the community.
