Tom Pompei has been a band director in the Centerville City Schools since 1990.  He teaches concert and jazz ensembles in grades six through twelve. In addition to his activities with the Centerville City Schools, he teaches Jazz Pedagogy at the University of Dayton, and is the artistic director of  The Dayton Jazz Orchestra, The Miami Valley Jazz Camp, and the Ohio Music Educators Association District XII Honor Jazz Program.  He is an active clinician, jazz educator and performer in the Miami Valley.

     Tom Pompei is an alumnus of Bowling Green State University (Bachelor Of Music in Education) and Marygrove College (Masters In The Art of Teaching).  He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Ohio Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, International Association of Jazz Education, and Optimist Club International.
