Trouble with Calendar?

There have been some reports of issues with our 'Calendar of Events' link from the top of this page.  This used to point to www.calsnet.net/centervilleband has now been switched to http://my.calendar.net/centervilleband.  If you are still having issues you may want to check out the http://www.calendars.net/ site for advice on support of various browsers (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, etc.).

Congratulations to Winter Guard and Drumlines!

Congratulations to World Guard on the excellent performances and recent championships.  Congratulations to World Drumline for the placing 5th in Finals.  Here is a write up from wgi.org:
  • Centerville (OH) (5th- 92.5) rebounded from not making finals in 2007 all the way up into the top five with “Bounce”.  Utilizing a number of small and large trampolines, the kids were able to perform while jumping on them.  The drum sticks and mallets were doing some bouncing of their own, as the multiple features amazed the eyes and ears.  The program concluded with Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”, as cymbal players were caroming off the trampolines by doing back flips as the music thundered to a grandiose ending.

June - 2007:  From the Director's Podium:

Congratulations to everyone for finishing another great school year!  A big thank you to all of the students, staff, and parents that have given countless hours and massive amounts of energy to keep this program among the best in the world.  Good luck to the class of 2007 as you enter the next phase of your life.  Hopefully the lessons you learned in the band program will help you in your future endeavors.  Make sure to come back and be a fan!

The Centerville Jazz Band design team has been meeting frequently to put together an outstanding production for the 2007 season entitled "Wired."  The show will be a representation of what it means to be "wired" both physically and metaphorically.  It will feature all original music and be a fast, energetic, and modern endeavor for the Jazz.

We would  like to welcome Brandon Barrometti to the Centerville Band family.  Brandon will be assuming the role of Assistant Band Director for the high school program.  Although originally from Ohio, Brandon has spent the last few years in Texas as the Assistant Band Director at Stephen F. Austin High School.  He received his undergraduate degree in Music Education from Miami University and a Masters Degree from the University of Houston.  Brandon was a member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from 1999-2002 aging out as Drum Major in 2002.  He has been a member of their brass staff ever since and now holds the position of Assitant Brass Caption Head.  The addition of Brandon to our staff is going to be a HUGE boost to our concert program as well as the marching band and other extra curriculars.  WELCOME!
