Bands Of America Grand Nationals Results:

~ Press Release ~

The Centerville Jazz Band turned in an excellent performance in the preliminary competition on Thursday afternoon (Nov. 14th) and joined the top 34 high school bands in the United States in semi-final competition on Saturday.  The Jazz performed at their highest level in a 10:30 am performance in semi-finals.  However, the satisfaction of knowing they gave it their best could not overcome the disappointment of not being selected to the group of 12 bands to perform in the final competition on Saturday evening. 

With two BOA regional Grand Championships and, at one point, the highest scores in the country, the 2002 season of Patterns In Jazz will be remembered as one of the Jazz's most exciting and entertaining shows in Centerville's history.  The final ranking was 13th in the nation.  Thank you to all the musicians, color guard, staff, boosters and parents for an experience none of us will ever forget!

Bands of America Grand Nationals:

Nov. 15, 2002 - After a very successful band season, the Centerville Jazz Band concludes its competition schedule with a trip to the RCA Dome in Indianapolis for the Bands of America Grand National Competition. Eighty bands from across the nation will compete on Thursday and Friday, November 14 & 15 with 30 advancing to semi-finals on Saturday morning/afternoon, and 12 advancing to finals on Saturday evening. October 16, 2002 - The Centerville High School Jazz Band is offering a HEAD START on preparing for Christmas. The band's annual Poinsettia & Wrapping Paper Sale continues through October 31^st, with delivery on December 7^th.  Businesses or organizations securing large orders can arrange for delivery on Nov. 19^th, Dec. 13^th or Dec. 20^th.  Poinsettia prices run $7.50 to $25.00. Jazz Classic III - A Great Golf Tournament:

August 9, 2002 - Thanks to Mike and Carol Soehner for a successful Jazz Golf outing at Heatherwoode Golf Club on Thursday, August 8th. Great golf, terrific weather, and excellent music supplied by selected members of the Centerville Jazz combined into an excellent fundraiser and outing for the 54 participants.
