Sunday, August 13, the Washington Township Fire Department will hold their annual Ice Cream Social. This is the Jazz Band’s annual community service project.  It is our way of saying “Thanks” to the community for the wonderful support they have given to the CHS Jazz Band throughout the years.  As always, this year’s event will be held at the Fire Department on Maple Avenue (across from the old post office).

Grilled food, drinks and ice cream will be served, and there will be several exhibits and demonstrations by the fire department.  All band members are asked to volunteer for at least one shift. Members will assist with washing trays, cleaning tables and emptying trash.  Parent volunteers are also needed to supervise the students - and occasionally pitch in when you see a need.  We need at least 10 parents per shift for each of the three shifts; 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, 1:30 to 4:00 PM and 4:00 to 6:30 PM.  There will be a sign–up sheet at Rookie Night, Dessert Night and one on the Band Board. 

ROOKIE TIP:  This is a great way to get involved and meet other parents and jazz band members!

Parent volunteers and Jazz members need to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of each shift so that we can divide into teams and brief you on the duties involved.  All participants are asked to wear their Jazz Band Shirts.
