Conn-Selmer Adds Centerville City Schools to Growing School Program Centerville Band Students to Receive New Instruments through Partnership
Elkhart, IN—September 25, 2015—Conn-Selmer’s Division of Education has added Centerville City Schools, located in Centerville, Ohio to its growing list of institutions who are part of the Conn-Selmer School Program. The program gives the district’s three middle schools and single high school access to arts education resources including: grants, Conn-Selmer clinicians and guest artists, professional development, inventory assessment, and scholarships for directors to attend Conn-Selmer Institute, the preeminent annual event focused on advancing music education in schools.
More specifically, Conn-Selmer partnered with Centerville High School Band Directors Brandon Barrometti and Josh Baker to facilitate this large scale project. This venture would not have become a reality without coordinated efforts of the Centerville Band Boosters, high school and district administration, and alongside the Board of Education who were all committed to see this project to fruition. As a result, band students in Centerville City Schools will obtain quality instruments for use in concert bands, jazz ensembles, pep band, and marching band. “When we began to partner with Conn-Selmer, it became obvious to us that they were invested in education and would do whatever they could to help us,” said Brandon Barrometti, Director of Bands at Centerville High School. “Conn-Selmer is truly dedicated to education…they are a company that understands the importance that music plays in the total education of students, and they recognize the value of investing in teachers to help them reach their students.”
Conn-Selmer Managing Director of Educational Services Michael Kamphuis said, “We are excited to partner with Centerville City Schools and provide them with a full range of benefits to develop and grow their band programs.”
