WELCOME TO THE CENTERVILLE BAND AND THE BAND BOOSTERS!
The philosophy of the Centerville Band Boosters Association is to act as a support group for the entire band program. This included the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band and all band ensembles as outlined in the band handbook.
The Centerville Band Boosters Association was formed to provide moral and financial support to all the Centerville High School Bands. The membership is open to all parents of band members. There are monthly board meetings, which are open to all members, and general meetings held four times a year, as required by the Constitution and By-Laws.
The Boosters, in cooperation with the band students, sponsor numerous fund raising events each year, some of which include calendar sales, poinsettia sales, spring flower sales, etc. We also work to partner with local businesses to help sponsor the CBB with both monetary and in-kind donations. The money from these activities provide for the following:
The Boosters also provide moral support at contests, concerts and other appearances by the bands representing Centerville High School.
BAND BOOSTERS ACTIVITIES & VOLUNTEER NEEDS
If you would like to get involved in the Centerville Band Boosters please Volunteer here online! We have many volunteer opportunities where you can help raise funds for the band, provide direct support to the band members, meet some other parents, and believe it or not have a little fun!!
BAKING – Baked Goods are needed at home Football Games for the students and at various other Booster supported events. You will be contacted for your turn to supply treats. Most activities require that the whole Band provide food items or baked goods.
BASKETBALL/WINTER CONCESSIONS – Volunteers are needed to work concessions during Basketball season & winter competitions
CABINET VOLUNTEERS – Volunteers are needed to help students dress for Football Games, Parades, and all Contests.
CALENDAR SALES – Students are required to sell 15 Band Calendars . To get the calendar ready, volunteers are needed to organize and run the Fund-Raiser. A volunteer(s) is needed to collect data from the schools to provide dates for the calendar. A Design and Layout person is needed to put the entire calendar together.
CENTERVILLE INVITATIONAL – Chairs are needed to coordinate this contest hosted by the Centerville Band Boosters. In addition, many volunteers are needed to sell programs, work concessions, usher, and monitor parking lot.
CHAPERONE – Adults needed to chaperone buses at Away Football Games & Area Contests (both 1-day events & overnight stays).
HOSPITALITY – Volunteers needed to help with set up & clean up of refreshments for varied get-togethers.
MEPA – Many volunteers will be needed if we are included as a Winter Guard Competition site. Help is needed as monitors, concessions, ushers, admissions, and much more.
POINSETTIA SALES – Volunteer(s) needed to chair this fundraiser and help with distribution to band members for delivery.
ROOKIE BUDDY – Volunteers provide support and information to Rookie and Rookie Parents (must have completed a season in band).
SEND OFF – Volunteers needed to help decorate band room before Grand Nationals plus making signs and decorating.
SOARING SOUNDS – Volunteer chairs are needed to coordinate the Drum and Bugle Corps Contest. This Fund Raiser also requires many volunteers to sell Programs or Raffle Tickets, work concessions and usher people, etc.
SPIRIT WEAR – Volunteer(s) needed to head up spirit wear campaign. Fall sale offers spirit wear/items with the CJB logo.
SPRING FLOWERS – Volunteers are needed to help unload flowers on delivery day.
